Interior
Painting also separates the professional from the amateur. Here,
the most important thing is the care of the inside of your home
is priority one. All minor things such as items in china
cabinets that can easily tip over are recommend that you remove
prior to the work being done.
We then
proceed to completely cover the floor, and plastic cover the
furniture so that minimal debris is spread. In the case were
the debris or dust is too much, we completely seal off the room.
Depending
on the surface to be processed, we evaluate the type of preparation
that is needed.
For
instance, plaster wells have this process listed below:
- Complete sanding of all surfaces
- Opening of all cracks (not simply taping over them)
- Fill all cracks with plaster
- Re apply compound or spackle to all cracks
- Finish sand where needed
It is in
these steps that a correct preparation be critical so that the
paint adheres properly, and lasts a long time. Without looking
over all cracks and just spackling over them, or even just painting
over them, they will reappear within days.
Unless other wise specified, we use a traditionally flat latex
finish on ceilings and walls, and an oil based semi gloss finish
on all moldings, wood work and doors. All paints wash easily
and can easily be touched up for future purposes.
