Exterior Painting’s first rule is safety. Many of the homes that we’ve painted are very high or have difficult areas to get to. This is what separates the amateur from the professional.

Each project is carefully thought out as to how to get to those hard to reach places. We pride ourselves in having the right equipment and knowing how to use that equipment properly. Ladders and planks are vital in reaching the out of the way places. Providing full coverage on the whole surface of the house and seeing the surface face to face is vital.

If needed, the next phase is pressure washing. We provide this service to completely clean the exterior of a house ridding it of its chalky film prior to painting. If in our opinion your home does not need a power washing, we then proceed to a thourough sanding and scraping of all surfaces. Using putty and caulking to seal any openings where moisture can seep in. We inspect every square foot of what is to be painted so that we have a completely prepared surface that is ready to accept paint.

While we are on the outside of your home, there are little things that we see that are included with our work.

The most common problems of leaks are loose gutters or holes in your roof.
As for gutters, a simple hammering of the spikes that hold the gutters to the house tend to solve the problem most of the time. This prevents water from dripping behind the gutter into your overhang. If needed, we also screw in gutters where the spikes have no hold therefore creating a tight seal.

As for your roof, if we see any holes we apply tar and caulk while we are in the area preventing any future problems from forming.

We use oil based Benjamin Moore primer’s and oil or latex paint for finish. Trim, doors and windows typically get oil base paint on both coats, while stucco and cedar shingle get a latex finish coat.

Should area’s such as columns or fine decorative work have too many layers of built up paint and require stripping using heat or non toxic chemical. This gives the surface a more detailed and finished look .
